Abstract

Occurrences of strongly anisotropic diffuse scattering in planes of reciprocal space arereported for early transition metal oxides of the titanite and pyrochlore structuretypes. The diffuse scattering sheets are compared to corresponding observations inKNbO3 and BaTiO3. Possible structural models are discussed in relation to existing models of the diffusescattering effects in these perovskite ferroelectrics.
