Abstract

The peculiarities of acousto-optic interaction in tellurium caused by its optical activity have been investigated. Due to the high optical activity, wide-angle geometry is implemented at relatively high ultrasonic frequencies, even when ultrasound is directed orthogonally to the optical axis. Theoretical data are compared with experimental results.
