Abstract

An anionic metal-organic framework with rutile topology was prepared and post-synthetically modified. DMA ions in the channels were exchanged by alkali ions (Li+, Na+, K+, Rb+ and Cs+) and prepared materials were characterized by elemental analysis, scanning electron microscopy, infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetry and powder X-ray diffraction. The successful ion exchange process and the amount of ions exchanged were determined by ICP-MS measurements. The ion-exchanged samples were subsequently studied as gas adsorbents for hydrogen.
