Abstract

The synthesis and application of oligodeoxynucleotides derivatized by the water soluble anionic manganese (III)- 5-(4-carboxyphenyl)-10,15,20-tris-(-4-sulphonato-phebyl)-porphine complex are described. These conjugates were found to be potent catalysts for the chemiluminescent oxidation of luminal, which in turn favou their application as non-radioactive DNA probes. †Professor Dr. Dieter Cesh deceased on November 19th 1996.
