Abstract

A formulation that allows one to describe scattering from objects in a waveguide has been developed. The method is based on coupling the free‐field T‐matrix to a waveguide using the normal mode code SWAMP and the T‐matrix codes developed at NRL. This formulation allows for the rapid reproduction of solutions and allows one to replicate pulse scattering from resonating objects in a waveguide. Animations of signals scattering from resonating objects is presented. The results are shown to enhance insight into the physics of such scattering processes.
