Abstract

The angular response of a new Harshaw albedo neutron TLD was studied with two sources: a bare 252Cf source and a 252Cf source moderated by a 15 cm D2O sphere covered with a cadmium shell. The effect of photon angular dependence on the neutron response of the albedo TLD was examined with 137Cs and X rays. The angular response performance of the albedo TLD was evaluated in terms of the directional dose equivalent quantity. The results of these studies are presented and discussed.
