Abstract
Analyzing powers and cross sections for the reaction pd → ttπ + have been measured at large pion center-of-mass angles at 425, 450, 475 and 500 MeV incident proton energies. The cross section and analzing power angular distributions cover the range 110° ⩽ θ CM( π +) ⩽ 160°. The results are compared with theoretical calculations which include one- and two-nucleon exchange and meson exchange involving two or three nucleon vertices.
