Abstract

The two dimension angular distribution for 71 MeV Xe19+ and 26.5 MeV Kr10+ through individual tapered glass capillary was measured on IRRSUD beam line at GANIL facility. Funnel and conical shape capillaries have been tested and both show that the transmitted beam is composed of contributions: a collimated fraction and a fraction scattered at small angles by the capillary walls. By imaging the beam cross section using a PSD detector, doughnut shape beams have been observed. A Rutherford scattering-based simulation has been used to analyze the experimental data.
