Abstract

The effect of 6 grain treatments and 2 infestation levels on percent infestation and emergence of Sitotroga cerealella (Olivier) was investigated. There was no significant interaction between infestation levels and grain treatments for either larval infestation or adult emergence. An increase from 1:1 to 2:1 viable eggs per kernel increased percent infestation 14%. There was no significant increase in larval infestation or adult emergence over untreated grain when the moisture content was raised about 10%. Dicofol, used to control Pyemoles spp mites, was not detrimental to S. cerealella .
