Abstract
Angling in Ireland has been identified as a recreational activity derived from natural resources which has significant potential as a tourist product for both domestic and international users. Within this paper, emphasis is placed on identifying the needs and requirements of visiting anglers to two inland lakes, and evaluating, from their perspective, the provision of angling resources and associated facilities and services. They are recognised as informed users and provide a critical source of information regarding the strengths and weaknesses of angling tourism in both Lough Derg and Lough Corrib.
