Abstract

The health problem that is often experienced by most toddlers in the world today is stunting. This occurs due to the impact of chronic malnutrition on children, namely that they cannot grow optimally if it continues. This research aims to determine the incidence of stunting in the working area of the Kediri 1 Tabanan Community Health Center. This research method is descriptive cross sectional. This research involved 2,793 toddlers who were studied. Data collection was carried out at 50 posyandu in all villages within the working area of the Kediri 1 Tabanan Community Health Center. The results of this research, from 2,793 toddlers, there were 100 toddlers included in stunting. This is done by taking measurements based on the Z-score table by comparing the toddler's current age and height. The still high number of stunting cases is caused by several factors such as maternal knowledge, parenting patterns, economic factors, family support and a history of exclusive breastfeeding. All health workers should provide adequate information about the importance of nutrition to toddlers as early as possible. Information can be provided through counseling to teenagers, mothers during pregnancy, postpartum and breastfeeding when mothers visit ANC, attend classes for pregnant women, come to community health centers, and when mothers visit posyandu.
