Abstract
With the monumental increase in research, symposia have become not only a forum for investigators to present and debate their findings but also an effective tool for professional education. Although the material published in the proceedings of such conferences can generally be found in the scientific literature, the availability of carefully selected, comprehensive, and up-to-date information will replace the frustrating hours one might spend hunting for the material in the library by hours of pleasurable reading and assimilation of new knowledge. In this issue on angiotensin systems and experimental renal diseases, the proceedings of the 14th annual conference on the kidney sponsored by the National Kidney Disease Foundation have been published.
