Abstract

SUMMARYSelective left ventriculography is essential in making the diagnosis of valvular aortic stenosis and discrete subvalvular stenosis. Selective aortography gives further information about these stenoses and defines the anatomy of the sinuses of Valsalva and the aortic valves. It is also essential to investigate multiple aortic stenosis and obstructive cardiomyopathy of the left ventricle which is a frequent associated anomaly whose prognostic significance is difficult to evaluate.
