Abstract

The syndrome of chest pain without significant coronary stenosis, coronary spasm or myocardial infarction (MI) has long been recognized [1–6] and is mainly identified as syndrome X (SX) [4,7] and angina with normal coronary angiogram (ANCA) [1–3,5,6,8]. SX refers to ST depression during stress test [4,7], occurs in a minority of patients [2,3,5,8] and includes typical angina and atypical chest pain whereas ANCA series very often pool patients with a positive or negative stress test, and with or without typical angina [1–3,5,6].
