Abstract
The present study was aimed to investigate the mediating role of forgiveness and vengeance and its relationship with anger rumination and subjective happiness. Anger rumination, subjective happiness, trait forgiveness and vengeance scales were administrated to 367 university students. Structural equation modelling revealed that forgiveness and vengeance fully mediated the relations between anger rumination and subjective happiness. Bootstrapping analyses demonstrated significant indirect impact of anger rumination on subjective happiness due to the mediating effect of forgiveness and vengeance. This finding demonstrates that forgiveness and vengeance serve to clarify the relationship between anger rumination and subjective happiness.
