Abstract
Angela Migowa's clinical work is challenging. Across east and central Africa, she is one of only two paediatric rheumatologists. It is a situation that Migowa, Assistant Professor and Paediatric Rheumatologist in the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health at Aga Khan University Medical College, East Africa (AKUMCEA) in Nairobi, Kenya, is passionate about rectifying. “In my country…potentially between 300 000 and 500 000 children have arthritis and associated conditions…it is one of the greatest challenges that many of these children are going undiagnosed.” The roots and solutions to this problem are multifaceted.
