Abstract
(Anesth Analg. 2021;133:1244–1250) Von Willebrand disease (vWD) affects 1% to 2% of the population and can complicate neuraxial anesthesia in obstetric patients. Currently, there are no clear guidelines for the pretreatment and timing of neuraxial anesthesia in pregnant patients with vWD. Previous reports suggest safe neuraxial anesthesia is attainable in these patients when appropriate precautions are taken. This study described the management of neuraxial techniques in pregnant patients with vWD over 20 years at a single tertiary center.
