Abstract

The prevalence of the Fontan operation was estimated to be 0.11 per 100 000 people across 11 nations. The number of women reaching childbearing age after the Fontan procedure is steadily increasing. We present a case of 24-year-old primigravida at 36 weeks with tricuspid atresia, ventricular septal defect, and pulmonary stenosis with Fontan circulation for elective cesarean section. Her preoperative blood investigations were normal and echo showed patent Fontan flow. This was the first time in our institution that we handled a parturient for a cesarean section that had Fontan circulation.
