Abstract

Postoperative pruritus is a common and insufferable postoperative complication. The mechanisms of postoperative pruritus are complex and not yet completely understood. Anesthetic intervention and anesthetic agents may induce pruritus. This review summarizes the up-to-date knowledge about the involvement of anesthesia in postoperative pruritus and its management.
