Abstract

Background: Reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome(RCVS), characterized with thunderclap headache and reversible multifocal segmental vasoconstriction of cerebral arteries, may be related to ischemic stroke. There were some case reports of secondary RCVS after massive red blood cells(RBCs) transfusion. However, to the best of our knowledge, RCVS triggered by severe anemia before RBCs transfusion has not previously been reported in the literature.
