Abstract
In this paper, we investigate numerically the effect of incident angle on Anderson localization of TE and TM modes, in disordered dielectric photonic crystal. The results show that, depending on the wavelength, increment of disorder strength can either increase or decrease the localization length. Moreover, in the case of oblique incidence and especially at Brewster’s angle, for a wavelength at the end of photonic band gap (PBG), a great difference between the localization length of two polarizations can be observed. This property enables construction of polarization mode selector based on Anderson localized photonic crystal.
