Abstract
Sound diffusion in cinemas is nowadays subject to a bidding war in the low-frequency range. Through various projects and recent experiences, we offer an overview of this evolution, its effects and the solutions found to reconcile often antagonistic uses. In particular, we will present the integration of a city cinema, one room of which is equipped with a Dolby ATMOS system, into a housing program. We will also look at the specific features of the recent Dolby Cinema system in terms of low-frequency sound diffusion and its impact on the cinema itself and its surroundings, through a recent installation of such a system.
