Abstract

Aim : The purpose of the study is to check the awareness of healthy habits during pregnancy in the study area. Introduction: The hookworm infection may prove dangerous for a pregnant woman. It is the leading neglected tropical disease among the 20 diseases on the WHO list. Ancyclostoma duodenale and Necator americanus are two principal species of hookworm that causes infection in human, but in this case report, the infection was produced due to Ancyclostoma duodenale. A. duodenale is a nematode is known as old world hookworm and soil transmitted helminths. Method : A field survey was conducted between February to August 2018 on a pregnant woman. The woman was enrolled in our field survey. Result : The woman was found to be positive for infection of Ancyclostoma duodenale in her 2nd trimester. Conclusion: Hookworm infection is still an important issue for community health even after the health education programs
