Abstract

1. 1. A cephalometric appraisal has been presented of various anchorage changes resulting from the use of the Begg light-wire technique. 2. 2. Routine treatment results do not lend support to the opinion that it is customary for bite opening to be dependent upon rapid elevation of anchor molar teeth into the freeway space. 3. 3. Initial bite opening and subsequent posttreatment closure of the FMA is not necessarily a constant treatment phenomenon. 4. 4. With the Begg technique, extensive modifications to the mandibular occlusal curve can be maintained following active treatment.
