Abstract

A modification of the standard category judgment technique permits an analysis of a pre-decision behavior. Anchor values of the test dimension are left accessible during the test trial for S. The resultant frequency of anchor usage (not excluding the duration, etc.) may then be correlated with other performance characteristics. Two applications of the technique are described, one with samples from a totally blind population, the other concerned with speech perception in normal and hemiplegic subjects. Some research directions which the technique suggests are also noted.
