Abstract

SummaryA technique of nephrotomy is described in which the kidney is not bivalved, rather the nephrotomy incision is placed between the junction of the anterior and posterior arterial segments. A new method utilizing vertical mattress sutures and water-tight closure is discussed. Correction of calyceal stenosis is achieved by calycoplasty. The results of this procedure in 138 patients as it has evolved in the last 12 years are reviewed.
