Abstract

The anatomy of the oculomotor system includes the eye muscles, their innervation by the 3rd, 4th and 6th cranial nerves and the pre-oculomotor centers in the brainstem with their tectal, neocortical and cerebellar afferent paths. The primate oculomotor system was reviewed by Wolff [1], Nieuwenhuys et al. [2], Henn et al. [3, 4] and Leigh and Zee [5].
