Abstract
The pediatric patient brings unique challenges to the neuroanesthesiologist and neurointensivists. Anatomy and physiology of the pediatric central nervous system has substantial differences to the adult patient. Further challenges are presented by the fact that there are rapid changes in the anatomy and physiologic responses of the central nervous system as the pediatric patient grows and matures.
