Abstract
The text is a personal testimony that provides a detailed account of the sequence of events surrounding the "Ugričić case." As someone who was both personally involved with and close to the protagonist of the affair, Ilić doc uments incidents that led to Ugričić's removal from the helm of the National Library of Serbia. Although the event has importance in and of itself, it is even more important to see it as an emblem of highly problematic practices that shape the Serbian political and cultural scene, which is controlled by similar media witch hunts and manipullations.
