Abstract

This review examined research on anatomical doll interviews with children. Both children suspected or confirmed to have been sexually abused, and nonabused children have been studied. A standardized interview protocol and more normative data continue to be needed, although some headway has been made in determining both common and uncommon behaviors of children with the dolls. Inferences regarding children's behaviors with the dolls must be made very cautiously, given limited research in this area.
