The left atrial appendage (LAA) has been regarded as an important source of cardiac thrombus formation and appears important in the contribution to thromboembolism in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF)
Swan LAA morphology was independently associated with prior stroke/transient ischemic attack in the overall study population, and in patients with and without known AF
Swan morphology of the LAA is independently associated with prior stroke or transient ischemic attack in patients with known AF, as well as in patients not previously diagnosed with AF
