Abstract
Objective: To analyze the anatomical success rate and functional outcomes of patients with rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) who underwent 23-gauge pars plana vitrectomy plus 20% sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) gas endotamponade. Methods: A retrospective, observational, cross sectional study. Fifty-one eyes of 50 consecutive patients underwent 23 gauge pars plana vitrectomy with sulfur hexafluoride gas tamponade were included. The anatomical success rate, visual outcome, and the type and frequency of complications were investigated.
