Abstract
The aim of this study was to report our experience in the indications and functional results of ileo-anal and anastomoses in the general colo-anal surgery department of Ignace Deen Hospital, CHU of Conakry. Materials and methods: This was a descriptive retrospective study, conducted over a period of four (04) years from January 1, 2019 to December 31, 2022, carried out at the General Surgery Department Ignace Deen CHU of Conakry. We included in our study all the records of patients who had been admitted and operated on for whom an ileo-anal or coloanal anastomosis was performed in the department. Results: We collected 18 ilioanal and colo-anal anastomoses, i.e. 2.06% out of 872. Thirteen (13) men, and five (5) women; with an average age of 37.11 years. The most represented therapeutic diagnosis was rectal cancer (27.78%). The postoperative courses were simple in most cases (11 cases or 61.11%) and complicated in 7 cases (38.89%). Conclusion: Ileo-anal and colo-anal anastomoses are rare in our practice, functional results require skill in their execution Keywords: Anastomosis, Ileo-anal, Coloanal, Indications, Results, CHU Conakry
