Abstract
We report on two military trainees who experienced anaphylaxis following an injection of benzathine penicillin G (BPG). A total of 9203 trainees received a prophylactic dose of BPG over a 6-month period for an incidence rate of 0.022%. One of the trainees experienced biphasic or recurrent anaphylaxis. We discuss the issue of management of anaphylaxis following an injection of a depot form of penicillin especially with regards to biphasic anaphylaxis.
