Abstract

The characteristics of LE15 erythema fluorescent lamps manufactured by A.N. Lodygin NIIIS (Light Sources Scientific and Research Institute) are presented. The radiation characteristics of erythema lamps were analysed due to changes in the effective values and magnitudes, presented in state standards. Also matters related to aspects of application of erythema lamps in irradiators and installations for tanning beds, beauty salons, and agricultural farms were analysed. Major provisions of the interstate standard GOST IEC60335–2–27–2014 were taken into consideration. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found necessity for the manufacturer of the erythema fluorescent lamps to provide more detailed information on their parameters (in particular, irradiance) in energy and effective magnitudes, while the manufacturer of the irradiators with tanning lamps shall provide an identification code containing a corresponding UV code. It was suggested to optimise the structures of the sources of mixed radiation for specific application conditions of UV radiation sources in agriculture and to develop recommendations for application of UV radiation in cattle and poultry breeding on the basis of the existing regulations.
