Abstract

In recent years, the use of advanced robotic systems has increased significantly, making machinery quite effective and productive. A robot is an advanced machine that can perform a task autonomously or under supervision. This paper analyzes various sensors that can be used for collision avoidance and introduces a robot with built-in intelligence that can direct itself and avoid obstacles. This robot is constructed using an Arduino Microcontroller, a Motor shield, a Sensor, and a DC (Direct Current) Motor. To carry out the required operation, the ATmega328 microcontroller is used. The Arduino UNO is used as the controller for the robot. It receives commands from a computer that is connected via a USB cable. The commands are sent in a text format via serial communication. The Arduino UNO then interpret these commands and send signals to the other components of the robot to execute them accordingly. The Sensor and the DC motor are used to scan for obstacles. The servo motor is used to change the direction of the robot when it detects an obstacle. In conclusion, the findings of this paper will provide us with a completely automated robot, that can navigate effectively in unfamiliar environments without colliding.
