Abstract
Endodontic therapy, also known as endodontic treatment or root canal therapy is a treatment sequence for the infected pulp of a tooth which results in the elimination of infection and the protection of the decontaminated tooth from future microbial invasion. The treatment comprises of two parts: - Cleaning and shaping of the canal followed by filling and sealing of the same commonly known as Obturation according to the American Association of Endodontists. The cleaning and shaping comprise process parameters, geometry parameters, material parameters, and energy parameters involved in treatment. The intent of this paper estimate canal operating force (process parameter) and its relation between canal curvature coefficients (geometry parameter) is very important. Initially, a supervised machine learning approach is used to determine the relationship between process and geometry parameters and to propose mathematical expressions for the estimation of canal operating force. This paper also mathematically validates the canal geometry and proposing a frictional force distribution model in unprepared canal. The failure in connectivity between middle and apical part justifies the reason of failure in the mid part of the canal due to excessive canal operating force thus, the study proposes a hypothesis that compaction force can be subcategorized into the static and dynamic part; out of which static part is a summation of applied load and frictional force applied from a canal in an equilibrium state.
