Abstract
Objective Researching the academic level of 12 domestic medical universities by databases of scientific evaluation. Methods Researching the academic level of top 12 medical universities of China mainland based on the ESI and InCites. Results Peking Union Medical College ranked first on overall academic level in 12 medical universities, and clinical medicine has the highest academic level. Every university has its ESI disciplines and potential disciplines, most TOP papers belong to clinical medicine, but other disciplines also had. Conclusions The overall academic level of 12 medical universities is higher, in addition to, the ESI disciplines need to maintain, and the potential disciplines need to support.
