Abstract

An attempt is made to give an overview of the psychodynamics of adolescence and of analytical psychotherapy with adolescents from an analytical psychology perspective. Although in analytical psychology only few publications on this topic exist, in Jung's writings there are important aspects which can enrich our understanding of the adolescent individuation process (concept of the self, concept of the ego-self relationship, approach to the incest motif as a special form of regression to the early pre-oedipal objects).
