Abstract

Following the method of a previous paper on the application of the cluster properties in field theory to the derivation of bounds on the partial waves for the elastic scattering of two particles, we show that for particles described by not-strictly-local fields, the scattering amplitude is analytic in momentum transfer in an ellipse that is smaller than the Lehmann ellipse but has the same energy dependence at high energies. We have not attempted to get the best possible domain of analyticity. This result also holds in a scattering theory formulated in terms of local observables.
