Abstract

To evaluate the performance of antenna diversity with maximal‐ratio combining (MRC) over spatially correlated Nakagami fading channels, the average level crossing rate (LCR) and the average fade duration (AFD) of the signal envelope are derived. To characterize the dependence among antenna branches, both the exponential and equal correlation models are considered. Numerical results of the average LCR and AFD are presented for various channel parameters and different numbers of branches.
