Abstract

The results application methods of calculations fire water supply for the needs of externaland internal fire extinguishing on an example of a branch «Darnytsky wagon repair factory» PJScompany «Ukrainian railway» to substantiate the decision on the need for the reconstruction of thewater supply network. The analysis of fire hazard of objects that are part of the enterprise with theaccount of the features of technological process of production and daily consumption of water isgiven. The most dangerous building according to the level of fire danger, which is part of theenterprise, is determined, as well as an analysis of the situational location of the sources of externalfire water supply that can be used in the event of fire suppression. The minimum required amount ofwater for the needs of the fire extinguishing of the object is calculated taking into account the type ofdanger of fire load. The type of water extinguishants, as well as the minimum quantitativecharacteristics of the forces and means that must be involved in the event of a fire to extinguish theobject of protection, are determined. The actual state of the sources of fire water supply and fire waterreserves with the account of the maximum daily water consumption for drinking water and productionneeds is analyzed, as a result of which the conclusion about the necessity of their reconstruction ismade. A general conclusion is drawn based on the results of calculations by two alternative methods,which includes the economic substantiation of the methods. Characterized advantages anddisadvantages of alternative methods of water consumption calculation.
