Abstract

AbstractThe ideal critical diameter of steel has been expressed as the product ofpolynomials in carbon and alloy content. The coefficients of these polynomials have been calculated using data already available in the literature on ideal critical diameters of steel. The calculated values of coefficients have been listed in a tabular form to enable the determination of the hardenability of any steel as represented by its ideal critical diameter.
