Abstract

The main idea of this paper is improving the reliability in the case of a failure of a speed sensor of Doubly Fed Induction Machine (DFIM) working in motor mode. This machine is supplied by two Voltage Source inverters (VSI) and operates with linear and non linear controls, i.e. Stator Flux Oriented Control (SFOC) established from DFIM current model and Dual Direct Torque Control (DDTC), defined from DFIM flux model. The sensorless DFIM operation offers an analytical redundancy in case of mechanical sensor failure and ensures the service continuity of the drive. SABER simulation and experimental results validate this tolerant fault controls and confirm the satisfactory behavior of this speed drive. This simple and pertinent method is based on deterministic reconstitution of a rotor position and rotation position and rotation speed.
