Abstract

AbstractThis paper presents investigation and analysis of the analytical performance of QO-STBCs transmitted over SR fading channels with M-PSK constellations. Specifically, we derive signal-to-noise ratio for four symbols transmitted by antennas employed at earth station (ES) for instantaneous and identically distributed SR fading channels. The basic approach behind this study is to evaluate the analytical performance of QO-STBC for land mobile satellite (LMS) communication system. Following this, by using the SNR, we further derive moment generating function (MGF) in terms of Meijer’s G-function. Using derived MGF, we evaluate SER of the QO-STBC-based LMS communication systems under various shadowing conditions with M-PSK constellations.KeywordsQuasi-orthogonal space-time block code (QO-STBC)Instantaneous and identically distributed (i.i.d) shadowed-Rician fading channelsland mobile satellite (LMS)M-ary phase shift keying (M-PSK)Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO)
