Abstract

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is an efficient multi-carrier modulation technique. OFDM is a greatly effective technique in the field of wireless communication. Many platforms such as GNU RADIO, MATLAB, SIMULINK, LABVIEW etc. in the field to communication for working and performance of OFDM. In this work, the recently emerging platform-Open source GNU Radio and its graphical user interface called GNU radio-companion (GRC) imposes the importance of OFDM communication system. We present an OFDM transceiver model in this paper, with IEEE 802.11a Standards in very simple dimensions. A performance of OFDM mainly affected by the parameters such as BER, SNR, Channel fading, Doppler's effect and PAPR. Experiments are carried out with software defined radio (SDR). Hardware used for this experimental setup is Amitec SDR04 and software platform used is GNU Radio.
