Abstract

An analytical model of a micro power generator is used to obtain displacement, voltage, and generated power, which are the figures of merit for energy harvesting. This model is presented for PbZrTiO3 (PZT), BaTiO3, and ZnO. In this article we analyzed a mass-spring-damper-piezo model with an energy storage system for harmonic analysis, and a power balance of piezoelectric constitutive equations. Theoretical predictions were verified with numerical simulations, and results showed that generated power depends on electromechanical coupling coefficient, frequency, and resistance. PZT provided more generated power compared to other materials, while the highest generated voltage was obtained by ZnO.
