Abstract

Based on the analyzing model of fuzzy reliability, general formula of the probability density function and the probability distribution function of equivalent random variables transformed from the membership function of fuzzy variables are derived. Also, the concrete probability density function and the concrete probability distribution function of equivalent random strength of a triangular fuzzy strength are obtained by using the derived formulae. And then, the equivalent mean and the equivalent standard deviation of the triangular fuzzy strength are derived based on probability theory so that the reliability coefficient of fuzzy reliability analysis can be obtained by using the link equation of conventional reliability theory and the reliability can be estimated by using the probability distribution function of standard normal distribution. Examples show that it is feasible to analyze fuzzy reliability based on the conventional reliability theory, and it simplifies fuzzy reliability analysis via the idea put forwards in the paper.
