Abstract

While employing the accurate analytical solution of the stationary thermal conduction problem for the double-layer wall at non-uniform boundary conditions of the first and third kind obtained in this work, the analytical method for determining the thickness of the layer of sediments on inner surfaces of pipelines was developed using its experimentally established temperature on the outer surface. The thickness of sediments is established through solving the inverse thermal conduction problem by substituting the experimental temperature value in the formula for the accurate analytical solution. The obtained relation is reduced to the polynomial algebraic equation based on whose solution the target sediments thickness value is found
