Abstract

Many techniques are available for determining the diffusion length of the conventional front-design solar cell, including electroluminescence, the photoconductive method, and many more. All these techniques have their pros and cons assessing several parameters. This article presents a new method for determining a solar cell's two crucial parameters: the diffusion length of the minority charge carrier and the base thickness of the Interdigitized Back Contact (IBC) Solar Cell. In the present method, we have analytically found a relation by using the diffusion length and a base thickness of the back contact type of solar cell that can be evaluated. During the validation-based experimental model, it was found that values of L are reliable, and the values of base thickness match well with the actual cell thickness.
